Morris, IL, automatically positions and loads a roll of paper into the press and then removes the spent core and reloads. The operator is only required to prepare the roll and then remove the spent core from the core removal cart. This system automatically positions paper rolls, ranging in size up to 104" long, 52"in diameter, and weighing up to 10,000 lb.., between the chucks and then it signals the press to automatically insert the chucks into the roll. It's completely Non-Contact Loading-the operator can be preparing the next roll or stripping the spent core instead of trying to accurately position a large roll of paper in the press.
